11/9/17 - Exciting updates!
The next two note sections on Colonial Life are here. In MORE exciting news, we are beginning our John Locke VS. Thomas Hobbes trial simulation! Students will be entering an intellectual court case centered around these great enlightenment thinkers. I have posted the description as well as the roles which students play in this simulation. They case being argued is: What form of government is superior - monarchy or democracy? The arguments will incorporate the theories of both Locke and Hobbes regarding both government and knowledge. You will find a complete description of the case below as well as the individual philosophies of Hobbes and Locke. I am very excited and this small simulation will be practice for a much larger experience to come in the next few weeks.

Greetings explorers! Today you will be jumping into 1607 America, specifically Jamestown Colony! If you follow the link below you'll come to an interactive website concerning Jamestown and the nearby Native American Village Powhatan. For today's class you should only look at Jamestown. When you select Jamestown you will see seven categories along the top: Exploring the Fort, Life and Death in Jamestown, Surviving in the New World, What's Cooking, Impact of Colonization, A Fort Reveals its Secrets, and Exploring the New World. Your task is to complete a 3-2-1 for EACH OF THE CATEGORIES.
